Victoria (#562-16)

Victor and Victoria will be coming to MACSPRO from Puerto Rico. Victor and Victoria came from a terrible situation in which the owners moved out of their home and left their two Shar-Peis shut inside with no food, no one looking after them, no way to get out, no nothing.

Victor and Victoria require serious medical attention as they were left abandoned in a closed house without food or water. Volunteers had to work hard to rescue Victor and Victoria from the abandoned house as there was a lot of rubble and stuff barricading the dogs.

We really need fosters once Victor and Victoria arrive to us--please let us know if you can help!

Update (01/2016): Here is a wonderful update on how Victor and Victoria are coming along! And again, we'll need fosters when they arrive in the USA from Puerto Rico.

Update (4/7/2016): The vet removed a mass on her paw and sent it out for biopsy. It shows that she has a grade 1 cancer, that is probably the best kind to get if you have to have cancer. It is not aggressive and her prognosis is excellent. However, because the mass was situated directly on her paw, where there isn't much extra skin to play with, she ended up with a nasty wound that got infected. She has been staying at the vet's from Monday through Friday where they do a daily routine to remove the patch, which stimulates the skin underneath to grow back. Once she is through this process, they will go back in and remove the so-called dirty borders that were left from the original removal of the mass. Despite all this, she is a happy camper and loves seeing people and getting attention. She is going to make someone a wonderful companion....

Update (06/2016): Victoria is still in Puerto Rico, we would like to place her in a foster home when she gets here.

Update (07/18/16): Victoria is super mellow. Gets along with others, even alpha females. Likes to keep mostly to herself in front of the fan.  Loves to get hugged and kissed and squished, mushed up.  She is a ham, very easy to dress up with hats and scarves; loves to pose; easy going. She will be coming to Maryland very soon and we really need a foster home for her. We do not want to put her in the boarding kennel.

Update (09/29/2016):  Victoria has a foster waiting for her in Annapolis as soon as she gets here.   We’re waiting for the cooler weather to fly her up here.

Update (10/20/2016): Victoria is now living with a foster in Maryland!

Update (11/02/2016): Victoria is a very well mannered little girl, very calm and very obedient.   Just wants to be a lap dog and loves being around people, getting petted & hugs!

Update (11/16/16): Victoria has found her forever home with Holly in Laurel, MD. Congratulations, all!

Peityn (#568-16)

Peityn

Peityn is a 1 yr old spunky girl that could use an active family home, lots of energy to burn.   Gets along with other dogs, not recommended around small children, she gets nervous.   Very affectionate, loves to play.

Bonnie (#573-16)

Bonnie & Clyde are adorable 4 month old puppies that need foster/forever homes and lots of TLC. Both came to us with ear & skin issues and are very scared right now.
Socialization and lots of love, good food will help them along to bring their true personalities out.

Update (10/4/16) Bonnie went to her forever home last evening!   She was adopted by Marissa and will be in training as a service/companion dog in Towson, MD.

Coco (Private Adoption)

Coco
Coco is a 4 yr old Shar Pei Mix that was left behind in an unheated, dark basement when her family moved.
The  landlord is allowing Coco to stay in the home where she feels safe and the kind folks from St Mary’s Animal Welfare League have been feeding her and getting her the necessary medical treatments. She is fine in her home with women, men and other dogs, but is very frightened out of her safe environment. Her time in the empty house will soon be coming to an end and she does not do well in confinement. Coco could really use a foster or forever home, please consider giving this girl a good home and life that she deserves.

Peanut (#563-16)

Peanut

Peanut is a cute boy from New York. Peanut is a approximately 1-1/2 yrs old and underweight due to life as a stray. Peanut is thin and scared, but with time he should calm down. Peanut ate gently and softly out of a volunteer's hand and allowed gentle pets. Peanut could really use a foster or furever home to help him gain some weight and overcome his fears

Update (9/10/16): Very exciting news...Peanut has gone to his forever home!! Congratulations, sweet boy!

Clara (#572-16)

Meet Clara, a stray from Maryland. We do not know much about her yet, but she is calm, quiet, and aloof.  She enjoys getting attention, although she acts like she is not used to it, and treats. She has been walked near other dogs in the kennel and doesn’t seem to mind them. She will need to be spayed, and we would love to find a foster home for her after she arrives next week.

Update (7/27/16): Clara is now being fostered!

Update (8/12/16): Clara has been adopted by her foster family!

Victor (#561-16)

Update (01/2016): Here is a wonderful update on how Victor and Victoria are coming along! And again, we'll need fosters when they arrive in the USA from Puerto Rico.

Update (4/2016): Victor is coming to Maryland this weekend! We heard from Victor's foster mom that he is very, very spoiled and loves to get kissed on the cheek. He also loves to ride around in the car--he'll go anywhere! He is active and playful. However, he should be fed alone, because he really, really loves to eat and will try mightily to get into everyone else's dishes. He doesn't bite or growl, but he tries to push them so they understand to move....He's a strong boy, who may not always know his own strength when he's playing with other dogs. His favorite thing (beside getting kisses) is curling up in a really comfy bed. He really needs a foster home!

Update (06/2016): Victor, now called Charlie, was adopted and went to his furever home with Vanessa & Oliver in Luray VA.
