Snorkles (#585-17)

Snorkels

Snorkels is a bit shy, but a super sweet boy. He does not know how to walk on a leash, but is learning! He is good with cats, dogs and loves people! He is also not food reactive. Please let us know if you can foster Snorkles!

Update 04/30/17 Snorkles found his forever home in Georgetown where he resides with Abbie & Adi, his pei brother Henry and cat Scarlett who he still likes to chase!

Tryke (#571-16)

Senior Shar-Pei Tryke (Formerly known as Ike) was found wandering the streets of one of NJ's toughest inner cities. He is maybe 8 - 10 years old, has been severely neglected and is extremely thin. He may be partially blind BUT he loved all the handling during his evaluation and wanted more! Although he did react to other dogs during the evaluation, we can’t be sure it was the loud barking at the shelter, the unfamiliar smells and/or overall fear and uncertainty of this environment. He had no blanket or bed to comfort him and sat on the cold hard concrete floor. Laurie, who gave him his freedom ride, said he is a sweet boy.  Laurie helped MACSPRO bring him to safety in Newton, NJ where he is getting a thorough exam, fluids, good food and necessary vaccines.

Update (09/29/2016): The surgery was successful and his foster mom has been taking great care of him & getting him to physical therapy.   He would do better in a home without stairs.  Please think about giving this sweet old boy a loving home in his twilight years.

Update (1/17/2017):  Tryke made it to Florida and will spend his remaining senior years in the warm weather with other senior pei to play with.

Update (1/28/2017): Tryke is doing great!!! He's a total sweetie who follows people around until he's totally exhausted and then naps for a while. We have him on several natural anti-inflammatories because he's getting so much more  exercise here than he did previously. He still doesn't walk well but he no longer limps :)

Cooper (#565-16)

Cooper

Cooper was turned into a shelter in Southern VA when his owner passed away and left him and 3 other dogs.   Cooper has some skin issues and could use a foster family to give him the love and care his needs after his ordeal.

Update (05/2016): Cooper's skin issues are doing better, and he is now in a foster home. He is still in need of a forever home, however!

Update (06/2016): Cooper is back at the kennel, things at the foster home did not work out and his is still looking for a furever home.

Update (07/05/2016): Cooper is now in a foster home but still looking for his furever home!

Wally (Private Adoption)

He is  a very healthy blue and white boy a little shy but sweet he is big 55 pounds, 18 inches tall and 3 years old I don't use him for breeding but I don't just want to give him to anyone I love him very much but if I could find him a good farm home or someone who had a lot of fenced in area he loves to run.  He's a little shy but he is a little rammy with me not sure how he would be with small kids he's not mean or aggressive he's just big and bouncy and he has not been on a leash much except to go to the vet. He has all of his shots and very strong and healthy.

Victoria (#562-16)

Victor and Victoria will be coming to MACSPRO from Puerto Rico. Victor and Victoria came from a terrible situation in which the owners moved out of their home and left their two Shar-Peis shut inside with no food, no one looking after them, no way to get out, no nothing.

Victor and Victoria require serious medical attention as they were left abandoned in a closed house without food or water. Volunteers had to work hard to rescue Victor and Victoria from the abandoned house as there was a lot of rubble and stuff barricading the dogs.

We really need fosters once Victor and Victoria arrive to us--please let us know if you can help!

Update (01/2016): Here is a wonderful update on how Victor and Victoria are coming along! And again, we'll need fosters when they arrive in the USA from Puerto Rico.

Update (4/7/2016): The vet removed a mass on her paw and sent it out for biopsy. It shows that she has a grade 1 cancer, that is probably the best kind to get if you have to have cancer. It is not aggressive and her prognosis is excellent. However, because the mass was situated directly on her paw, where there isn't much extra skin to play with, she ended up with a nasty wound that got infected. She has been staying at the vet's from Monday through Friday where they do a daily routine to remove the patch, which stimulates the skin underneath to grow back. Once she is through this process, they will go back in and remove the so-called dirty borders that were left from the original removal of the mass. Despite all this, she is a happy camper and loves seeing people and getting attention. She is going to make someone a wonderful companion....

Update (06/2016): Victoria is still in Puerto Rico, we would like to place her in a foster home when she gets here.

Update (07/18/16): Victoria is super mellow. Gets along with others, even alpha females. Likes to keep mostly to herself in front of the fan.  Loves to get hugged and kissed and squished, mushed up.  She is a ham, very easy to dress up with hats and scarves; loves to pose; easy going. She will be coming to Maryland very soon and we really need a foster home for her. We do not want to put her in the boarding kennel.

Update (09/29/2016):  Victoria has a foster waiting for her in Annapolis as soon as she gets here.   We’re waiting for the cooler weather to fly her up here.

Update (10/20/2016): Victoria is now living with a foster in Maryland!

Update (11/02/2016): Victoria is a very well mannered little girl, very calm and very obedient.   Just wants to be a lap dog and loves being around people, getting petted & hugs!

Update (11/16/16): Victoria has found her forever home with Holly in Laurel, MD. Congratulations, all!

Peityn (#568-16)

Peityn

Peityn is a 1 yr old spunky girl that could use an active family home, lots of energy to burn.   Gets along with other dogs, not recommended around small children, she gets nervous.   Very affectionate, loves to play.

Update (11/2/2016): Peityn is being adopted by her foster family!

Bonnie (#573-16)

Bonnie & Clyde are adorable 4 month old puppies that need foster/forever homes and lots of TLC. Both came to us with ear & skin issues and are very scared right now.
Socialization and lots of love, good food will help them along to bring their true personalities out.

Update (10/4/16) Bonnie went to her forever home last evening!   She was adopted by Marissa and will be in training as a service/companion dog in Towson, MD.

Coco (Private Adoption)

Coco
Coco is a 4 yr old Shar Pei Mix that was left behind in an unheated, dark basement when her family moved.
The  landlord is allowing Coco to stay in the home where she feels safe and the kind folks from St Mary’s Animal Welfare League have been feeding her and getting her the necessary medical treatments. She is fine in her home with women, men and other dogs, but is very frightened out of her safe environment. Her time in the empty house will soon be coming to an end and she does not do well in confinement. Coco could really use a foster or forever home, please consider giving this girl a good home and life that she deserves.
